Reunion FAQ's

Programming

Can I get CME credit for attending Alumni Weekend programming?

Some programming and events during Alumni Weekend do have CME affiliation. This will be made known to attendees on the invitation. If a CME option is not available during the weekend, please see a list of CME courses available at Pitt Medicine.

I'll be in town for a while and would like to see what else is going on in Pittsburgh. Where can I find a calendar of events for the city?

Visit Pittsburgh has a complete list of events and other visitor information available.

What is the dress code for the weekend?

Dress for all daytime events is casual. The Friday night Opening Reception and Class dinners are semi-formal.

Registration

Where can I pick up my registration materials?

Your registration materials will be available for pickup upon arrival to the first event you have signed up for. The nametag you receive at this event is the same you will use all weekend.

What if I want to change or cancel my registration?

To change your registration, please call our office at 412-648-9059. Please have the credit card that you used to make your initial reservation available. Should you wish to cancel your registration via email, please send a written request akk57@pitt.edu. Cancellations may not be requested more than 30 days after the date of your initial purchase and can only be made for credit card reservations. We cannot refund a partial day, so please note that cancellations only apply to the entire weekend. Cancellations for accommodations must be made directly with the hotel. I am having difficulties registering online, can you help me? If you are having trouble registering online, please contact us at akk57@pitt.edu or by calling 412-648-9059.

Transportation

What's the best way to get to campus?

If you are staying in one of the Pitt Medicine dedicated hotel blocks listed on the accommodations page, there will be a shuttle bus running between those hotels and campus on a regular schedule during the day on Friday and Saturday. If you are staying in another hotel in Pittsburgh, you are welcome to ride the shuttle provided by that hotel. Shuttle schedules can be found there and will be available in packets distributed upon your arrival at your hotel, and at the registration table. If you are from the Pittsburgh area and will not be staying in a hotel, complimentary valet parking will be available on Friday night. We strongly suggest taking a shuttle that is provided to any Saturday events, specifically the football game and tailgate, as parking will be self-serve.

If I am going to drive to events, where should I park?

Complimentary parking will be available on Friday, September 15th. On Saturday, please refer to on campus parking at Heinz field parking accommodations.

Where can I find maps of campus?

All maps of campus are available at http://www.tour.pitt.edu/

Special Needs and Requests

I am bringing my children to Alumni Weekend. Are there child-friendly activities? Will child care be available?

The Saturday day events are child friendly. Please notify the MAA in advance of the number of children that will be attending.

I have specific dietary restrictions. Will you be able to accommodate me?

We can accommodate almost any dietary restrictions. Kosher, vegetarian, gluten-free, vegan, or allergy-specific requests can be accommodated by notifying us at least one week prior to alumni weekend. On your registration form, be sure to fill out the section on dietary needs.

Are the weekend's activities handicapped-accessible?

All of the indoor programming and events during the weekend take place in ADA-compliant buildings. On your registration form please indicate if you need assistance.
